Good people, great place to volunteer
This morning, I was putting out the trash and slipped and fell on wet paving stones. I was not hurt, other than my pride! However, such was the location I fell in and the fact that the stones were very slippery, that I simply could not get myself up. My wife, was unable ti right me and called the Fire Department for non-emergency help and within a very few minutes Tom and Ariel from the Glen Echo Fire Department were there to help me back on my feet.
When we bought our house on Augusta Lane, a big selling point was the proximity of the Glen Echo Fire Department. That was in 1971 now forty-three years later we had to call on the services of the Fire Department.
I am fortunate that, other than a couple of bruises, I was not hurt. I was also fortunate in the speedy response from the Glen Echo Fire Department and the sure hands of Tom and Ariel. To them and the Fire Department, my sincere thanks.
